Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

The Certificate III in Children’s Services is the minimum qualification required to work in the children’s services industry. This course gives you basic skills to work with children in a licensed setting, including meeting all legislative requirements at this position level.

All Children Services qualifications include a compulsory work placement component. For a Certificate III this is 120 hours. This allows you to put into practice the theory you are learning, as well as making contacts with the industry to assist you in your future career prospects. This work placement ensures that you are “job ready” upon completion of your studies.

Once enrolled in the Cert III you can seek employment in the industry. You will need to be actively working towards this qualification to remain employed. Information about these requirements is outlined in the ACECQA website: www.acecqa.gov.au.

The TAFE Digital Childrens’ Services section is staffed by highly trained, skilled and experience teachers, who have close links to the industry. We have over 35 teachers onsite, and a team of over 80 teachers offsite, ready to assist you and support you through your studies. You can contact the section throughout your studies by phone, email, dedicated social media pages, or our delivery platform (called the OLS) for information, assistance and support.

Please contact the section on 02 9715 8817 if you have any questions about this course or the sector.
