Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is usually required to manage a room or a service and are usually responsible for the planning of curriculum.  This qualification has management and leadership units to assist in the successful running of a children’s services business.

The Diploma has a minimum work placement (WP) requirement of 240 hours (even if you have previously completed a 120 hours WP in a Certificate qualification). The work placement is completed in two separate 120 hour blocks, one half-way through the course, the other at the end. The course is designed to learn the theory then implement this theory.  We start with simple units then move to harder or more complex units/concepts as you work towards course completion.

Upon completion of the Diploma you can seek advanced standing into a variety of Bachelor of Early Childhood qualifications offered at many Universities and TAFE Higher Education.

The TAFE Digital Childrens’ Services section is staffed by highly qualified and experienced teachers who have close industry links.  We have over 35 teachers onsite, and a team of over 80 teachers offsite, ready to assist you and support you through your studies. You can contact the section throughout your studies through phone, email, dedicated social media pages or through our delivery platform (called the ‘OLS’).

Please contact the section on 02 9715 8817 if you have any questions about this course or the sector.
