This qualification is suitable for individuals working in a range of human resources management positions. Job roles could include human resources assistants, human resources coordinators, human resources administrators and payroll officers.

Workplace responsibilities would be determined at a workplace level. Some smaller business may require employees to work across all aspects of human resources (generalist). In larger companies, individuals may just have responsibility for one operational aspect of human resources (specialist) such as recruitment.

It provides the underpinning operational and transactional knowledge and skills to undertake the Diploma in Human Resources Management. The key HR functions include recruiting, selecting and inducting staff; assisting line managers in implementing performance management and work health and safety programs and interpreting award conditions for managers and employees. It also provides competency in a number of complimentary skill sets including research and presentation skills.

Career opportunities

This course provides the entry-level qualification to a career in Human Resources. It is also relevant to line managers who manage a team.
